Quechua, Aymara, and Guarani have gone high Tech by uploading video about gatherings conducted in those languages. They really do compete with Spanish and threatens it's status.

<< .. and who's talking about that? we're talking about how the Franchies keep making lies about the Spanish language dying out in South America... and when you show them how stupid those claims are, they run away like the bitches they are. >>

Yes it's true. Spanish is in gret danger from fragmentation and from Amerindian languages. That's the sad truth and you have to accept it.

French as a foreign language is the second most frequently taught language in the world after English.

http://www.nelanguage.com/french.html

Now these two websites created by an American and Chinese are far more reliable than the blog that you posted made by a Hispanic. Besides, these 2 sites have information based on facts thoroughly analyzed to come up with conclusion that French is the 1nd most studied language in the world unlike your hispanic blog in shich the inforamtion are based on assumption and guessing.

French is expanding while Spanish speaking world is shrinking because Quecua , Aimara , etc are languages elevated to official statusd. Also Frenh is expanding in USA very fast, in Philippines, in Spain and Colombia.

Spanish is more studied than French by far in USA and Brazil.

Spanish's competition is only small minority languages spoken by only a few million people. French on the other hand has competition from other MAJOR world languages like English and Arabic. Is it that hard to see were the danger really lies?

'Spanish is expanding in USA very fast,'

I don't have a problem with usa becoming a third world country (fast).

Well, if you prefer Africa , where most of the French speakers are located at, instead of USa, it's all for you. Enjoy.

'Spanish is expanding in USA very fast,'

It's just one of the signs that usa are becoming obsolete. French has been obsolete for a long time. Time comes for local languages - victims of imperialism and cold war.

USA will become a English-Spanish bilingual country.

English and Arabic are no threat to French in Africa. Swahili is the threat to English. Maghrebian still prefer French because according to them, they can understand a French language newspaper than an Arabic one.

It is really amazing that French fanatics are very nervous and touchy. They see "Hispanics" everywhere, and they don't want to accept that Spanish is probably the second most studied World language.

If French is the third most studied World language is also a good place. I don't understand their attitude. It is also a Major language very spread and spoken.

Besides, if you know English, Spanish and some French (or French and some Spanish) you can travel around the World.

French and Spanish are spoken in different areas and Continents: French in Canada, France, Belgium and French Africa, Spanish in USA, Spain, Mexico, Central America and South America. So, there is not a direct competence.

For example, German and Italian people are completely happy, and German is probably 4th and Italian 5th. These languages are less spoken and less studied than French and they don't post defensive messages and insults all day.

Visitor, did you comprehend the main points of my last post? Here is our difference (and your lack of logic): I know the native languages exist in Latin America, but I give very clear and simple points that show why they don't threaten Spanish. You, however, (based on what you are posting) seem to think that the mere existance of native languages threaten Spanish...simply because they exist. This is where you are wrong and illogical. Remember I could make the same claim about native languages in "French Africa" also.

So please get a life and quit posting links that show some people speak a native language in LA. WE ALREADY KNOW THEY DO! I'm not going to waste my time posting links showing Africans speaking there native languages for the same reason. You are wasting you time my friend.

Also, French is not growing in the US. In fact, the last statistics for 2006 showed that French (while still 2nd) had the LEAST growth while all other languages showed more. The trend is apparent.
