Are ''catch'' and ''ketch'' homonyms for ye?

The English C is only soft when it comes before E, I, or Y. Or in borrowed words like "facade", where we have lost the little squiggly line under the C but still retain the pronunciation.

So "catsup", with the A after the C, would ALWAYS have a hard "K" sound.

Sometimes. In my native dialect I pronounce them the same, in my General American/Californian accent I don't.
