Would you be able to guess where I'm from?
If I were to record a clip of myself speaking, would this forum be an appropriate place for me to post it for you to guess? How long would the clip need to be? Is there a block of text somewhere that would be easy to read?
I've been told I have a very hard to place accent.
That depends, although I don't think that's going to be easy unless your accent is very obvious. I posted my sample here ( http://www.antimoon.com/forum/t16296-15.htm ) and nobody was able to guess where I was from (so far), even though that wasn't exactly the purpose of my accent sample.

I'll try reading that, though I'm dyslexic so I sometimes read words wrong at first, I'm not sure if it would work. :/
Yes, I did get some useful responses, and some bullshit comments (this forum is going downhill...), but nobody was able to guess where I was from.
I'm kind of afraid of the rude comments, I don't have a very pleasant voice. I didn't think there was anything wrong with yours, so I think I'll get a lot of worse comments. It's worth a shot, though.
Should I post the clip here or make a new thread?
