Sentence Items

I'm somewhat confused about this "sentence item" concept.

If I wanted to learn a language from scratch, say Turkish, would I put the example Turkish sentence in the question field, and then give an ENGLISH (home language) "answer" or would I use a simple Turkish "answer"?

Using Turkish itself seems rather pointless - considering I know none!

When learning from scratch, you would have to use an English answer. After some time, you could switch to Turkish if you wanted.
