Why would it be a W? It is an L sound.

Full.......pronounce the "L" sound. You wouldn't say "fuw." (I don't even know if that can even be pronounced in English).

It's not like the Spanish L. You have to roll your tongue backwards a little more. It may sound like W in some languages (e.g. Russian).

In some British accents you will hear 'w' instead of 'l'. And also in the middle of words like million (miwion). This is not standard though and should be avoided.
