If there's the 20s the 30s the 40s the 50s the 60s the 70s the 80s and the 90s, what should this decade be called, the decade from 2000 to 2009,
the noughts?

They've never had a specific name though have they...neither have the 'tens' really..perhaps they'll just be labelled early 21st Century.

never heard them call this decade the noughts and there's no tens decade that i've heard of, but there's the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, but no 00s, or 10s, with names

I guess they call the decade from 1900 to 1909, the nineteen hundreds and the 1910s, the nineteen tens, so would they call this decade the two thousands, and the next decade the two thousand tens?

Infomercials are going to hit problems around 20-30 years from now when they try to sell their 'Great hits of the naughties' or 'great hits of the teenies' collection. Looks like we're going to be trapped with them selling best hits of the 60s,70s,80s and 90s.
