Question for Americans. How do you pronounce ''roof''?

This thread is down the bottom of the pile and in danger of being lost without my getting an answer to the question "What about /u/?" I can't let that happen.

Canadians think Americans pronounce it that way because they go down into Detroit and Buffalo and it's pronounced with the /u/ sound there. That's how we talk in the industrial north.
