Hour/Our homonyms?

For what it is worth, in Canadian English "hour" and "our" = same
"flower" "flour" = same, "are" "car" = same.

That being said it is possible that the way we pronounce homonyns, and they way we perceive that pronunciation are both influenced by the context. Juding the sound of a word in isolation may be a bit like tasting a drink holding your nose and with your eyes closed.Just wondering.
