No, that's true. I recall an old anecdote of a Serbian man dancing with a Russian woman on a visit to Russia, and he wanted to tell her how good he found life over there. So he told her "U vas ochen' horoshiy zhivot" ("You have a very good belly"), instead of "ochen' horoshiy zhizn" ("very good life"). It is not very difficult to imagine her reaction! :-)
