Mairead, I wasn't able to find an audio link called 'Nuacht', but eventually I did find a Gaelic station. For those who wish to hear it, here's a smil link that can be copied and pasted directly into RealPlayer (select File, Open), and it will start playing the broadcast: http://www.rte.ie/smiltest/rnag_new.smil

Also I noticed that there's an archive of past programs. The ra files at the links called FTP can be downloaded and stored on a disk for repeated listening: http://www.rte.ie/rnag/eist_cartlann.html

I couldn't find any texts that correspond with the broadcasts, but maybe they exist.

Ok....now some English to advrtise a Gaelic speaking site..navigate your way around the following site and you will hear loads of Gaelic chat, news bulletins, Gaelic music etc.

Some of you may think, listening to Gaelic, that it resembles Scandinavian Languages in the intonation.

It's no use me telling you which links to click on there are so many...just work your way round them if you feel you'd like to hear spoken Gaelic and Gaelic music. Just take pot luck and switch on your RP. An interesting feature is that every now and again you'll hear English words creeping in. Apparently this happens with Welsh as well.... when there is no real Gaelic or Welsh equivalent for certain English words they use the English, especially if they're technical.

Incidentally..the word ALBA is another word for Scotland.

Slains!
