I wanted to share this video because I thought it was interesting. It discusses the different ethnic and class based accents (or dialects) in N.O, and the related issues.
I enjoyed the "Yat" accent the most which sounds almost identical to the brooklyn/long-island accent. I wonder how that came to be? I if I didnt know, I would have never guessed those women were from the south.
