Netherlands ? Man, Flanders is not part of Netherlands nowadays thanks to the Spanish. They didn't get rid of the Spanish completely what is quite remarkable considering Netherlands and Spain are very distant to each other. If Spain was in the center of Europe everybody would speak Spanish now.

That's because the Dutch are a Germanic people. They are the tallest people in the world, and we all know the fierceness of the Germanic peoples. The Spaniards are a small people.

Tell that to William I of Orange, captured and killed by the Spaniards like a pig (in reality a Frenchman killed him, but he was rewared by the Spanish king Philip II). Flanders is Germanic too and remained as a part of the Spanish Crown until Philip V renounced to his rights over the Spanish posessions in mainland Europe. That's so because the Dutch were unable to steal Flanders to Spain, a country which was miles away!

Spain conquered Germanic countries like the Netherlands and nearly invades England if the weather was more favourable to the Spanish Armada. I'm still waiting to see a Germanic country trying to conquer Spain and occupying it for a century and a half like Spain did with Flanders and around 80 years with the Netherlands.

Spain was ruled by Karl Quintus, a Germanic king.

Karl von Habsburg.
Spain didn't conquered The Low Countries - they were hereditary possessions of the kings of Spain who were of Germanic origin.

Spain did conquer part of the Low Countries because there was a war. If it was only a question of hereditary possesions why do you think the Dutch commited rebellion? The Habsburgs kings were strongly anti protestant and rabidly Catholic , not very Germanic at all. Spain did the war against the Dutch and won in the South, nowadays known as Flanders. It were Spanish soldiers who kept Flanders under the Catholic faith, were these soldiers Germanic too?

Almost half of Germany and entire Austria are Catholic.

They are not pure Germanic, they are mixed with Slavs. North Germans are true Germanic.

a saying we still say and its meaning:
