Why do Romance language speakers constantly mention Latin?

"Compare Anguila and Barbados with Haiti and Dominican Republic. Compare Kenya and South Africa with Democratic Republic of the Congo. Get my point?"

Yes.
Unlike South Africa, there is no white social elite in Haiti or Congo...

:)

"It has to do more with weather"

Nonsense! Los Angeles CA has the climate of Egypt.

<French speaking Africa in better off than Anglophone Africa.>

Ne me fait pas rire....Kenya and South Africa are the most prosperous countries in Africa!

<Actual working time in longer in France than in UK.>

You're insane! The U.K does not have a federally mandated 35 hour work week.

<<Best example in Western Europe, the famous British NHS.>>

At least, Britain learned from its mistakes. France still has a love affair with socialism...

<<But there is one with some unspeakable genetical factor that makes Nigeria and Haiti much poorer than Quebec and New Zealand... :)>>

Trying to be subtle are we?:-)

<<No, France has a lower GDP (PPP) per capita than Germany and a microscopically higher nominal GDP per capita. Not very impressive for France considering Germany has a much larger population and considerably lower taxes. You know what that means? The average German actually takes more money home each year than the average French men.>>

I don't know about fiscal pressure in Germany but if they have to pay less taxes that means their public heathcare system includes less services, so they have to take part that money to pay for it whereas in France or Spain public healthcare system is "for free" . I don't mind to pay taxes for something I would have to pay for with my own money anyway and would be more expensive if was privately run.

Spanish speakers are the majority in Belize....And Costa Rica is the one success story in Latin America...

This has nothing to do with propaganda. I'm just having some fun. However, I do think my theory is true to a large extent, but there are some racial/cultural loopholes where it falls short of reality. The sad truth is an Englishman has a lot more in common with a Spaniard or Quebecois than a Nigerian.

Republica Dominicana has higher GDP than Belize as well. In Belize 5x% of people speak Spanish but the rest do speak English and Spanish is not recognized.

It doesn't matter. The ancestry and culture is mostly Latino or native. It's hardly the typical Anglo nation.

And what do you think Republica Dominicana is, a country inhabited by Spaniards? We were comparing English and Spanish speaking countries no matter ethnic composition.

And Mozambique is a typical Latin nation? ha ha!

Anyway, what is your reason for believing it has anything to do with linguistics and not other factors?
