What is the popular english definition of an Intellectual? (the previous thread was deleted because of the anti-americanism and irrelevant postings. Why this topic degenerated and attracted so many anti-americans, I dont know, and why it was deleted instead of being moderated?)

So what is the popular definition of the masses? and why intellectuals have a bad name?

Why are Americans so fat and arrogant? That is the important question.

Why was it deleted and not just closed! There were so many humorous gems in that thread it's sad to see it lost. I never laughed so much.

definition: the modern term -Intellectual- on a global scale is used as anti-american, just like proletarian is used as communist, to condemn the government.

The term "intellectual" tends to be very politicised these days and elitist. One reason the previous post was deleted is because it deviated into anti-Americanism, that was inspired by the very term "intellectual". Lets hope this one will stay on track.

There are scores of intellectuals in America who don't hate the US.

Most US intellectuals are against the US government

Against the US government does not mean anti-American. Too many brainwashed rightwingers adhere to this flawed belief.

A lot of right-wingers don't like the US government, either.
