How Useful Are Ancient Greek and Latin?

To OP: Well, put it this way. The ancient greeks produced some of the finest scientists, philosophers, poets, architects etc the world has ever known, and they gave civilzation to the Romans who spread it across Europe. So, my point is if you want to learn about the origins of western civlization then learning greek would be the way to go.

Classical Greek is much harder than Latin. At least it was for me. I studied Latin for 6 years and I was good at it. Greek? I gave up after 2 years. WAY too much work.
