hang up on me?

Hi. I would like to know the alternative to ''hang up on me''

hang up the phone in my face [1] or
hang up the phone on my face [2]

Google says [1] is used frequently, [2] is extremely rare.

I've never heard either. They just hung up on you.

I agree with Skippy. You can slam the door in a persons face, but since you are not face to face with the person on the phone, it would be rather difficult to hang up the phone in a persons face. And, if someone ever tries to hang up the phone on your face, you should probably call the police and have the person arrested for assault.

Google doesn't say that [1] is used frequently at all. "Hang up the phone in my face" returns 5 hits and "hung up the phone in my face" returns 41. (The latter says "about 1370 hits" on the first page of results, but it only yields six pages, and it actually stops at the beginning of the 5th page.)

I understand the idea that it's trying to convey, but I can't think of an idiom that would really be equivalent to it.
