Does Ancient Greek Use the Same Script...?

As modern Greek? So if one learned ancient Greek writing, could one read modern Greek script as well?

Theoretically, yes; there are a couple of differences, though, concerning the accents - you can visually discern AG from MG as the former has "more developed" script, i.e. MG's script is simplified regarding the accents, as there is only one in use.

Also, even though script is theoretically the same, reading has changed; so beta (AG [B]) became vita (MG [V]), eta (AG long [E]) became ita (MG [I]), and so on. MG also has combinations of letters that read differently (e.g. combination MP has the phonetic value of [B], as written beta/vita has taken phonetic value of [V]). So you could read the script, but not the way Greeks read it today unless you took about 10 minutes to learn the new rules as well ;)
