Traditional appliances consume more power with usage.

It is difficult to understand exactly what is meant by this expression.

Some appliances, such as computers that are always on, do not consume more power when they are being used.

Other appliances, like Washing Machines, only use power when they are being used.

Some appliances use the same amount of power, when they are old, as they do, when they are new - i.e. Computers.

Other appliances use more power when they become worn out, such as Washing Machines that have developed faults.
