"curly" and "early".

Do they rhyme for you? For me, "curly" has three syllables and "early" has two.

They rhyme, and both have two syllables, for me.

They definitely rhyme for me as they both sound exactly the same, except the /k/ in curly, of course.

For me it's the same thing: two syllables that rhyme. It's intersting that you put three syllables into it. I'd imagine you mean something like: cuh-urly. If that's the case, some Amercians living in southern states sometimes add extra syllables to words like that. In Arkansa, the word blue can be pronounced "buh-loo" as opposed to "bloo." Where are you from, Rick, if you don't mind my asking?

While I pronounce them both with two syllables, I can see how you would pronounce curly with three. If you remove the suffix, curl is two syllables, so just adding -y would make it three for some people.
