How to pronounce "Taei"?

I'm going to meet an American whose last name is "Taei". How should I pronounce it?

I would at first guess say "/tai:/" as in "tie"

If not, second option would be "/tei:/" as in "tay"

Well, most american last names are not anglicized, because they are second or third gen kids of immigrants. This last name sounds like a korean one: so, anglicize the vowel digraph -ae-
