"MONTREAL - The nationalist Société St. Jean Baptiste says a Supreme Court of Canada ruling which invalidates schooling provisions of Bill 101, will allow an additional 400 to 500 immigrant children a year into Quebec's English schools.

Mario Beaulieu, president of the Montreal chapter of the organization, said Thursday that the solution is extending Bill 101 to cover private unsubsidized schools.

The high court said a Quebec law blocking children who attended unsubsidized private English schools from attending public English schools in Quebec is unconstitutional.

Beaulieu called the judgment "extremely worrying" and "revolting" for the future of Quebec, and said the only solution is Quebec independence."

This is great news. The crappy Bill 101 is the reason why Montreal lost the title of #1 in Montreal. Many business and immigrants were lost due to it. There's no reason to protect the French language in Quebec since it's doing just fine.

Very good news. Freedom is more important than preserving a language.

Maybe Alsatians in France do the same?
