What is the transcription for the word "don't" in American english. Is the letter "d" pronounced like the letter "r"?

Iie. Eigo wa ne, Nihongo dewa nai desu.
Nope. English, you know, isn't Japanese.

Just my low class answer.

Well, on one hand, the English /r/ is never [4]. On the other hand, it is quite common for English "don't" to begin with [4] when following words ending with vowels or codas not containing obstruents. (In some dialects, such as my own, that initial [4] is frequently dropped altogether when following pronouns ending in vowels or codas not containing obstruents.)
