I am an EFL teacher from Vietnam. I am looking for techniques and strategies for improving pronunciation for both me and my students. Does anyone know of any programs of any kind that are designed for Vietnamese? Thank you!

Yes, there is one program that does wonders: ask your students to meditate on allophones, assimilations, intonation!

Here are some book titles:

1. Speaking Your Best, A Self-Study Accent Reduction Program for Vietnamese Speakers (Audio CD - 2004)

2. Accent English: Sounds of American Speech for Vietnamese Speakers by Harold Stearns (Audio Cassette - 1987)

Let me wish you the best. I've learned other languages to a good level, but I find Vietnamese tones to be difficult, so I can imagine that it must be difficult for Vietnamese to learn English sounds.
