English + Spanish

The only languages spoken in big numbers in the US. So I would say only Spanish and English for the US.

That's why Hispanic America is in misery and hunger.

<< "Spanish is spoken by nearly 50 million" >>

The second generation hispanic immigrants are now monolingual in English, The number of Spanish speakers in the US is supplemented by the continuous illegal hispanic immigration nevertheless their children will speak English and not understand a single Spanish word.

The descendants of French Huguenots who arrived in the US in the 17th century although English is their everyday language bu they still speak French abd haven't lost thei contact from the French language and culture. Their church service is conducted in Frnch not English.

And people in New Mexico speak New Mexican Spanish all the time, not only in the Church.

In the church yes but as an everyday language, no. Majority of genuine New Mexicans have switched to English long before those considerable number of Cajuns in Louisiana switched to English.

The Spanish speaking folks heard in NM are actually illegal immigrants from neighboring Mexico.

Who cares if they are illegal immigrants from Mexico. They a part of North America and choose to live in America.

New Mexico and parts of California were all part of Mexico many years ago, which was stolen from them. So therefore they are not really illegal immigrants, they are just claiming back the land you Yanks stole from them!

Hispanic America is just as much American as white Americans. Stop your racists attitudes and accept Hispanic America is here to stay. Deal with it!!

Spanish and Chinese remain and second and third place of US' most speaking language group( first place is English).

So, US should have English,Spanish and Chinese as official languages, not French. Which place can French be?

Chinese, mostly of the Cantonese variety, is the third most-spoken language in the United States, almost completely spoken within Chinese American populations and by immigrants or the descendants of immigrants, especially in California.[39] Many young Americans not of Chinese descent have become interested in learning the language, specifically Standard Mandarin, the official spoken language in the People's Republic of China. Over 2 million Americans speak some variety of Chinese, with the Mandarin variety becoming increasingly more prevalent due to the opening up of the PRC.[39]

In New York City at least, although Mandarin is spoken as a native language among only 10% of Chinese speakers, it is used as a secondary dialect among the greatest number of them and is on its way to replace Cantonese as their lingua franca.[

French, the fourth most-common language, is spoken mainly by the Louisiana Creole, native French, Cajun, Haitian, and French-Canadian populations. It is widely spoken in Maine, New Hampshire, and in Louisiana.

French is the second de facto language in the state of Louisiana (where the French dialect of Cajun predominates). The largest French-speaking communities in the United States reside in Northeast Maine; Hollywood and Miami, Florida; New York City; certain areas of rural Louisiana; and small minorities in Vermont and New Hampshire. Many of the New England communities are connected to the dialect found across the border in Quebec. More than 13 million Americans possess primary French heritage, but only 1.6 million speak that language at home.

French remains the language spoken by the majority of the educated citizens of the US.

So, US should have English and French as official languages, not Spanish and English. Who are the educated Americans can speak Spanish or Chinese?

As a matter of fact Spanish is the most studied foreign language in US universities. Aren't university students educated enough for you?

PD. When a language is not spoken like Latin or French, fanatics pro-French or pro-Latin say that at least the language has prestige or it is an educated language, or even copy and past posts...but the problem is that French and Latin are NOT spoken

PD. When a language is not spoken like Spanish or like its mom, Latin, pro-Spanish fanatics or pro-Latin say that at least the language is important or it is a language spoken by large number of native speakers, or even posts message that are non-sense and full of lies...but the problem is that Spanish has fragmented just like its mom, Latin.
