Glottal Stop Gemination in California English?

I've noticed a few of my friends do this...

In words like "important" and "written" the glottal stop is doubled... So it's like "import-tant" /impor??n/ and "writ-ten" /rI??n/.

Anyone else notice this?

You mean:

[Im'pOr?n=?]
and ['r\I?n=]
