Hello everybody,

I need a help for thsi question:

Which is correct depart to or depart for?

I saw in some websites these 2 strutures:

Example:

Delegation departs to Haiti.

He departs for Germany.

Are the both correct?

Thank you in advance

I'd prefer "departs for", as in

"Flight 783 now departing for gate 1 for Pierre, Aberdeen, Watertown, St Cloud, and Minneapolis.

"Depart" is basically a synonym of "leave", and "leave to" doesn't sound very good.

I think both sound okay, myself.
