blared away and many other questions...

Please have a look at following questions I have:

1.
"Her performance droned on and her tone-deaf voice blared away in ever bolder flourishes."

I look up my dictionary for "drone on", "blare away", "bold" and "flourish". But still can understand the whole sentence.

2.
"My girlfriend's on my case."
"What's her problem?"
"She thinks I'm up to no good."

What does "on my case" me here?

3.
"The bartender wasted no time in serving her."

Is this saying the bartender served her quickly or didn't bother to serve her or...?

4.
"Look over yonder what do you see
The sun is a-risin' most definitely
A new day is comin' people are changin'
Ain't it beautiful crystal blue persuasion"

What is "crystal blue persuasion"?

5.
"I'm optioning the film rights."

What does "option" mean here?

6.
"I took a soul-searching slug of wine."

What does "soul-searching" mean here?

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me. Thanks!
