rhythm but algorithm WHY

Why is that one spells algorithms and rhythms?
Why are these two words so differently spelled in English?
I'm puzzled :(

They spell "rhythms" because they are proud of its Greek origin. As for "algorithms", this word originally comes from Arabic, not Greek, so ...
