What does the accent in Montana sound like? Is it like the midwestern accent, or the pacific northwest one?

I think it would be very difficult to pinpoint a specific Montana accent since accents from that state vary from region to region, based on settlement patterns into that state. This dialect map, http://www.geocities.com/yvain.geo/dialects.html, places Montana in the Rocky Mountain subdialect region--

"Originally developed from the North Midland and Northern dialects, but was then influenced by the Mormon settlers in Utah and English coal miners who settled in Wyoming."

However, western Montana is said to be in a Pacific NW dialect continuum more in line with eastern Washington and Idaho, while eastern Montana has traces of Scandinavian (largely Norwegian) and German/Russian speech patterns, and northern Montana is said to resemble the accents of Alberta and Saskatchewan.

I've met a few people from Montana, but nothing about their accents stood out to me. They just sounded GAE.

People in Montana speak ordinary American English.
