PLUSES and MINUSES

“You can go either by train or by bus. Each means has its pluses and minuses.”
Is it possible to say so? Or should it be “advantages and shortcomings”?

You can say it both ways but the first way - pluses and minuses - is more informal, more colloquial. "Disadvantages" might be a better word than "shortcomings." That's the word I would use.
