Scrambled cat

Please help me understand.
From Mark Twain’s wonderful story “At the appetite cure”:

I glanced at the list [menu] and shuddered. Of all the barbarous dishes that were ever mentioned in the menu these were the worst: […..] half way down the bill stood “young cat; old cat; SCRAMBLED CAT”…

What would it be like?

Hmmm...

I think Twain modeled that name after "scrambled eggs".

I wouldn't paint a very pretty picture to describe it...eww.

Tnx, Presley, for a new word- I guess, EWW means disgust. Is it common enough to be entered in my vocabulary? How does it sound?

Oh, sorry.

That's not really an actual word, but yes, you are correct, it expresses disgust.

I don't know about other English-speaking places (I live in California), but I say and hear it very often.
