dangle vs sway

what's the difference between these two words?

Another way of thinking:

Swaying involves movement. Dangling doesn't necessarily involve movement.

You can also sway when your feet are on the ground.

Something which dangles will normally sway. But something swaying doesn't necessarily dangle. Also, dangling suggests something less stable than simply something hanging.
