yeah...it was a good movie...very Catholic though (Mary wearing a habit, the nails going through Jesus' hands instead of his wrists, etc.).

Keep in mind, it is a movie, and although he followed the Bible pretty closely, there's some definite literary license. The use of Aramaic and Latin, though, was extremely impressive.

Hmmm. Is there any historical evidence for such details? The cross itself was not mentioned in the Bible. It appeared after an incorrect translation of the Greek "stavros" (noun: pillar, verb: to execute by impaling) to Latin Crux (Cross). Then a kind of feedback established this mistake over the original meaning.
