Sicilian?

I find Sicilian very difficult to understand...I mean I know its still Italian but does Italian have very many different accents? I remember watching the Godfather parts 1, 2, & 3 and i couldnt understand shit they were saying in Italian even tho they talked slowly.

Sicilian is *not* Italian. It is a separate language that is closely related to Italian.

Sicilianu:
Quannu lu patri duna a lu figghiu, ridi lu patri e ridi lu figghiu.
Quannu lu figghiu duna a lu patri, chianci lu figghiu e chianci lu patri.

Italiano:
Quando il padre dà al figlio, é contento il padre ed é contento il figlio.
Quando il figlio dà al padre, soffre il figlio e soffre il padre.

Sicilianu: La famigghia si ricanusci a la chiuruta di la porta.
Italiano: La famiglia si riconosce dopo che é stata chiusa la porta.

Sicilianu: Ammuccia lu latinu 'gnuranza di parrinu.
Italiano: Nasconde il latino ignoranza il prete.

Sicilianu:
Tri cosi fannu l'omu riccu: guadagnari e nun spènniri, prumèttiri e 'n'attenniri, accattari e nun vinniri.
Italiano:
Tre cose fanno l'uomo ricco: guadagnare e non spendere, promettere e non attendere, comprare e non vendere.

Sicilianu: Lu maritu senza affettu è comu la casa senza tettu.
Italiano: Il marito senza affetto e come la casa senza tetto.

Spoken Romanian is even more close to Sicilian. Written Romanian has the masculine and neutral (singular) definite article "L" at the end of the word, linked with the rest of the word by the connection vowel "U" (English oo). But most of Romanians do not pronounce that "L". So, such kind of words are ending in "U", exactly like Sicilian ones.

I agree.

Sardinian is beautiful. Especially -NUORO-. It's remarkely similar to Italian and Spanish in pronunciation and words. Logudorese / Nuoro is the closest to Classical-latin's original pronunciation.
