Is this expression gramattically correct?

I suspect that there is something wrong with the attributive clause. Should it be "a fast Brazilian dance in which couples perform in close physical contact"?

No, I think the original version is okay. In this context, "perform" is being used as a transitive verb: the couples perform the dance.
