Luxembourgish

Does this language even exist? What is it's status? On wikipedia it is as usual full of falsehood, something which angers me greatly, seeing as I am the truth and everything. It says there that there are 300 000 speakers of Luxembourgish, but this is obviously a blatant lie. How many people REALLY speak it? Is it practically extinct?

It's a varaient of the German language.

The people of Luxembourg speak their native language in informal settings and uses French in formal settings, broadcasting, education, when they talk to foreigners, and in the press. German is used in many books, and in the press too. French and German are its official languages.

<<How much does Luxembourgish differ from German?>>

Enough to make it necessary for the inhabitants of Luxemburg to learn German.
