Questions with 'have'

Yes, in America we would definately say either do you have a light or just "have a light?"

I know gotten is American and conservative and is often used with have. E.G. "Have you gotten your essay back yet?" "Have you ever gotten hair dyed?" etc. What would be the British equivalant?
