Low brow humour, quite guttural, dirty. Think American college films with gross humour, i.e. fart jokes, wank jokes etc. boobs etc.

Haha. I have seen a couple of teenage American movies. I dont like their practical jokes. I hate them. Yuck!

American jokes are usually very simplostic compared to their clever, more ingenious British counterparts.

I just do not find American comedies, such as Friends, funny. The "humour" is just too simple.

A good example of toilet humour is BBC comedy series "Blackadder." It is sometimes known as a "toilet humour sitcom."

Here are some quotes:

Blackadder: Your services might be as useful as a barber’s shop on the steps of a guillotine.
-----------

Flashheart: Treat your kite (WW1 plane) like you treat your woman.

George: You mean take her home to show your mother?"

Flasheart: No. I mean get inside her five times a day and take her to Heaven and back!
----------

Blackadder: A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.
----------

Blackadder (on Charlie Chaplin) :I find his films about as funny as getting an arrow through the neck and discovering there's a gas bill tied to it.

Toilet humour usually refers to scat humour.
It´s nasty, impolite (unpolished, better saying), dark. But doubtly toilet humour would ever be any low, at least "low" as in quality. It´s that sort of joke you wouldn´t tell in a office meeting, but everyone would love hearing even so :D

Adam. You are right. Why single out Friends. All their comedy shows lack proper sense of humour and I suppose the general American audience prefer that way.

I think teenage American movies are some of the worst sickening crap ever conceived

Teenage American movies are some of the best health bar plans every devised.

For comedy, I'd go for British comedies.

For action/suspense/thriller/special effects movie, i'd definitely choose American movies over British ones.

I thought toilet humour is jokes about poo and wee.

So did I. But I would be generous, and also include dick and fart jokes.

"Toilet humor" usually isn't used literally... I would include "dick and fart jokes". It usually is restricted to "anatomical" humor, though.
