British and American English

Hi Guys,

I am writing an essay on the differences between British and American English. I haven't started writing yet. Still doing research. I think the differences can be classified in four major areas; Vocabulory, Grammar, Spelling and Pronunciation. Any suggestions or recommended books or sites?

The cadences in American and British English are different. This is largely what accounts for the accent differences. This is also why Americans have difficulty understanding British speakers who talk too fast. It is they are not used to the cadences of British English.
