Just how popular is English in your respective country?

what about Oregon Republic or Hawaii?

The first thing that comes to mind when I think about Pre-American Oregon is about how lucky the USA was to get as much of that territory as they did.

Hawaiians have a legitimate reason to be proud of their heritage. I don't agree with those that seem to think that the Hawaiian Kingdom was overthrown by the American Government, but the US had no problem taking it as a territory after the coup. Well, they had no problem after... Cleveland? Was he the one serving when the Hawaiian Queen was overthrown? Aw, whatever.
