They perfectly fit

I was just watching an American TV programme, and one of the characters was trying on shoes and said

'They perfectly fit'

Is this the norm in US English? In British English, that sounds weird, and we'd definitely say

'They fit perfectly'

I would say "They fit perfectly." An American wouldn't typically say the first one. What show was it?

"They fit perfectly" does sound more natural, but "They perfectly fit" doesn't sound terribly wrong.
