The propa way to spel

It's more lazy than [nu:] for ''new'' because both [nu:] and [nju:] are one syllable. ''millitry'' is three syllables and ''milliterry'' is four. Britons lazily pronounce ''military'' without it's fourth syllable.

That reasoning is just bollocks, Dixionry. Neither [mil..tri(:)] nor [nu:] are lazy. They're just how the words are pronounced in certain accents. The fourth syllable in "milliterry" is the "y" not the "e": don't you mean "without it's third syllable"?
