The Romance Language that most resembles Slavic is my native Romanian, of course. In fact, the Romanian language underwent a huge language reformation in the 19th century. Thousands of Slavic words were purged from the language and were replaced with their Latin equivalents. It's a historical fact.

It's not a fact . No one can just "purge thousands of words " from a language , that never happened anywhere ,god, it's so hard to be more retarded than you.

I can understand and speak European Portuguese but when I hear it without thinking of the meaning of the words it sounds to me like Russian or other minor Slavonic languages. Romanian sometimes sounds like a harsh Italian. European Spanish sounds more or less like Greek but American variants sound differently most of the time...

Continental Portuguese sounds Slavic
dansk   Sat Aug 01, 2009 7:06 pm GMT
>> danish like swedish <<

There couldn't be two standard languages that sound more unlike Danish and Swedish. A comparison between some dialects of Swedish and Norwegian would be better.

Nynorsk is for provincialist romantics.
