The accent is still changing, if you listen to how the Beatles spoke in old footage it sounds not much like the accent now. As for us pronouncing "th" with a "d" saying "dis & dat" instead of "this & that", thats more irish. I personally pronounce by "th" and i think most people i know do too?!
I read an article recently which said the scouse accent is the only english accent which is becoming stronger as time progresses. All the other english accents are all blending in to one neutral accent with people moving round the country and watching the telly, but apparently the scouse accent is thicker than ever!
