Why are Spanish people so loud?
Why is it when Spanish people speak they are so loud?
They generally speak louder than everyone else, it's more like shouting than talking. Why is that? Cultural?
I've never found them particularly loud to be honest, although, I'm mainly refering to my experience with Andalusians. They're probably a bit louder than Scandinavians or British, but in general I wouldn't say they're any louder than most Europeans. The Iberians in general I would say are probably some of the more reserved South Europeans.
We speak loud because we are giving commands to lesser people like you .
They speak loud because they are proud of their high pitched voice.
U can see that most of them are wannabes of other "high pitched voice idioms" like italian , romanian and greek.
They are loud but not as loud as the Americans!
Spanish people are very rude; they all shout at each other and argue instead of talking.
But is a very nice country, the people use very big hats.
If the spaniards don't shout, theyre probably not speaking.

"Se todos os portugueses se calassem em simultâneo, seria possível ouvir o burburinho constante vindo do outro lado da fronteira. As cordas vocais espanholas conseguem exceder em decibéis qualquer outra voz humana. Pouco barulho, nuestros hermanos!"
Translation:
"If all the Portuguese were silent at the same time, you could hear the constant rumble from the other side of the border. The vocal cords of Spaniards in decibels can exceed any human voice. Little noise, nuestros hermanos!"
Bwawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawa.
Spanish speakers are not necessary loud, but they can be when they want.
Being based on a simple set of basic vowels combined with subdued consonants, their language is fitted with a built-in amplifier.
It's Italians that are loud, not spanish people.
"Why are Spanish people so loud?"
This is right especially for men. Ask to Almodovar. Because it may hurt...
I lived in Spain for two years and have many Spanish friends and I too have noticed that they are generally louder than people from other countries.
There's never going to be one simple reason to explain why one cultural group behaves in a different way to another, but it maybe could be explained by some of the following reasons:
- The weather in Spain is warm so people tend to go out and socialise more. The more intensely you socialise, the louder you get.
- Being loud is a cultural practice which has been handed down through the generations.
- It's not that the Spanish are loud, but that Northern Europeans and other cultures are too quiet!
- The Spanish have close-knit family ties and therefore develop intimacy easily. This means that they end up raising their voice because they don't feel the need to stay quiet.
- The Spanish are generally known for having 'Mediterranean passion'. They are just naturally louder as a result.
Stop lying. That's bullshit. I happen to have found that RUSSIAN is VERY LOUD. Everyday I hear Russians practically screaming on the bus and so on. Just picture a typical Russian yelling 'DA CHTO TY", "DA NET", "CHEGOOOO" or something and you'll know what I mean. That ruins many of your arguments, Needs.
- The weather in Russia is cold so people tend to not go out and socialise more. The more intensely you socialise, the louder you don't get.

Paul is right, Italians are as loud as Spaniards. But only southerners. Northern Italians are highly civilized people and don't need to shout all the the time to express themselves
Because the Spanish language lacks the ability for subtle conversation. It is the descndant of Roman farmers-speak and Moorish gibberish.
