No, I was your lover. I left you but not as I found you.
Tuesday, March 16, 2004, 08:57 GMT
No, I was your father, English. Latin tried to take you from me in a paternal lawsuit, but died before the case went to court. Your mother is Old Norse. Your brother is Norman French, your grandfather Celtic.

No Celtic is just some interloper. You know - the guy who pops up in your holiday photos.

No, I am the linguistic equivalent of a Palestinian. You Israelis took my land from me.

We're talking about language not land and before you go shooting your mouth off, show us the deeds. No, you're the linguistic equivalent of WMDs, much talked about but never seen.

Us heit, dy't yn de himelen binne; jins namme wurde hillige. Jins keninkryk komme. Jins wollen barre allyk yn 'e himel, sa ek op ierde. Jow ús hjoed ús deistich brea. IRISH Ár n-athair, atá ar neamh: go naofar d'ainm. Go dtaga do riocht. Go ndéantar do thoil ar an talamh, mar dhéantar ar neamh. Ár n-arán laethiúl tabhair dúinn inniu, agus maith dúinn ár bhfiacha, mar mhaithimid dár bhféichiúnaithe féin. Agus ná lig sinn i gcathú, ach saor sinn ó olc. Óir is leatsa an Ríocht agus an Chumhacht agus an Ghloir, tré shaol na saol. Amen!

I like the word spork
Monday, March 22, 2004, 21:34 GMT
not only is it a fun word to say but the thing itself is absolutly funny to look at. As a combination of fork and spoon it's not much good for either of the two uses!
Monday, March 22, 2004, 21:38 GMT
Sporks are stupid. I hate sporks. Restaurants and schools that give out sporks are so cheap.
