Do you ever go hiking there during the summer?

No,why?!

I once climbed Ben Lomond about 10 years ago, walking through an evergreen forest, but I only got about halfway up because a cottage of a famous British TV star caught fire and the whole of the mountainside was covered in smoke and we couldn't see properly, so we walked back down again, and I think I've also tried Mount Snowdon. Then I climbed Scafell Pike in the Lake District.

Maasstricht is gonna be my next stop. Should be a challenge.
