Not only that, but ok, fine, China may be considered a "superpower", but it has practically no cultural impact on the US. We certainly don't go out and listen to Chinese music, watch Chinese music, and learn Chinese so we can travel the world and speak to everyone. Somehow I think this simply will never happen. Guys, think... could you honestly imagine Americans suddenly getting into Chinese culture? Sure, there are some that are interested in Chinese language and culture, but that is simply because they want to go and visit China. I'd say that Japan has made a much larger cultural impact on the US, because of anime and stuff... But even so, it's just for the anime buffs. I'd say that China is no more popular in the US than Japan, or Mexico, or France. I just don't see any urge to learn Chinese over say, Spanish, or French, or even German. Sure, I eat at Chinese restaurants occasionally, but it's not because China is a "superpower".
