Was that some kind of gay love poem? Egidus sounds like a man.
Fredrik from Norway   Wednesday, March 02, 2005, 23:24 GMT
And women seldom wrote in olden days.

Sander:
=>Was Louis 15. of France gay?<=
Rather bisexual....there are unverfied reports of servants of versaille, who claim to have witnessed a number of wild bisexual orgies going on in the palace..."
Maybe their statements were taken down after the Revolution???

Yeah egidus was a man,but it were often men who wrote poems as if the were women....

Why would that be ?during the revolution would be excacly the right time to say such things...
Fredrik from Norway   Thursday, March 03, 2005, 17:11 GMT
Yes, there might even be a nice and comfy position in the peopleĀ“s army if you said some nasty things about some dead king....

I really have no clue, it was just new to me that L 15. had such tastes.

i have heard about men who wrote poems to women that were men in reality, but never the other way around!
:-))

But a closer reading shows that they might very well just have been good friends.
Sander   Thursday, March 03, 2005, 17:48 GMT
NO , I meant the writer of the poem (wich is fictional)
acts as if he is a woman.....This is a poem out of a saga. Its part of the story.
Fredrik from Norway   Thursday, March 03, 2005, 18:37 GMT
Ok, so the guy who wrote the saga is not the person adressing Egidus in the saga?
Sander   Thursday, March 03, 2005, 19:04 GMT
No,

It would be very dangerous acting gay in the Netherlands at that time
(arround 500 BC) people who even where thought of being gay the were thrown in to the sea or march (swamp).
Fredrik from Norway   Thursday, March 03, 2005, 19:56 GMT
You guys are very love/hate on gays:
Remember Faan 1730? 24 men and boys executed bcause of sodomy!!!
Sander   Friday, March 04, 2005, 13:14 GMT
Yes but we changed...

We were the first country with the "Gay marriage".Does Norway have the gay merriage as well ??

The topic isn't called 'Gay marriage' now , is it ?
Please stick to the subject ...
Gay Odin   Friday, March 04, 2005, 16:56 GMT
I'm pleased to see the high degree of culture and interest both in Norway and the Netherlands. Forget about marriage. It's a bourgeois invention.
