Guest, you say posted in another thread that Spanish big scientific language.

Ole, that is not true

French Science
Of course, French thinkers have made their mark in discovery as well as in invention. Sadi N. L. CARNOT (1796-1832), physicist, was among the founders of modern thermodynamics (reversible Carnot heat engine cycle). Claude BERNARD (1813-1878), physiologist, was the founder of experimental medicine. André Ampère (1775-1836) formulated laws of electrodynamics and circuit force law. Charles A. Coulomb (1736-1806) established experimentally the inverse square law for the force between two electrical charges. George Cuvier (1769-1832) was the founder of paleontology and comparative anatomy René Descartes (1596-1650) invented the cartesian coordinate concept, and was founder of analytic geometry. Antoine L. Lavoisier (1743-1794), founded modern chemistry and discovered the role of oxygen in plant and animal respiration. Here is a web site with biographies of some the best known French scientific thinkers and another about the French tradition of scientific research:

Number of prizes French won in:
11 in physics
8 in medecine
7 in chemistry

Does Spain and the rest of Spanish speaking world has an accomplishment similar to these? NOTHING.

Now if your going to insist that Japanese is the second most important language in science, think again because most of the scientific work done by Japanese are translated to English, French, German, and Russian but not in Spanish. Japanese are good only in electronics technology nothing else. They import sophisticated machinery from Germany and Helicopters from France because although they can manufacture these, they ae of lower quality.

<< Prestigious? What is that? I guess Frogs are really nervous because French is becoming the third Romance language. >>

Ohhh!

Don't worry, I'm giving you some websites to negate your statement:

PS: It is a question of time to become the third Romance language. Portuguese has now more non-native speakers than Spanishh and in my opinion more important.

Please stop insisting that Spanish is the second most studied language in the world and using http://vivirlatino.com/2007/04/27/spanish-second-most-studied-language-worldwide.php website to support your claim. Everybody in this forum knows that it was made by hispanics and it really makes you an ignorant idiot.

Time will say who is the second global language, perhaps we will get a surprise in 50 years and it will be english (Chinese first).

I think we must talk about ranking position and time. Of course french was the second language in the 20 century. English was the second language in the 19th. Spanish was the second language in the 18, and so on.

Ranking position changes with time.

List of most spoken Romance languages:

1. Spanish 500 million of speakers. Second language more studied worldwide. Source: Instituto Cervantes.

2. Portuguese, 230 million of speakers.

3. French, 195 million of speakers. Third language more studied worldwide, but in fast decline. Source: Francophonie. We can see that French is humiliated by Portuguese, more spoken and important than French.

Instituto Cervantes said that Spanish is the second more studied language worldwide, and Francophonie never negated that. So, it is true.

Who cares??! This is the same old story. Portuguese and Spanish have more native speakers than French but in my opinion France and French still have more prestige than all Portuguese and Spanish speaking countries
penis   Thu Dec 03, 2009 9:16 pm GMT
Prestige? What is prestige in these days of watered down culture? Yes, French has a lot of great philosophical writers and inventors that Spanish couldn't even dream of, but does anybody read them these days? What good is a treatise of philosophy sitting on a dusty shelf?
Guest   Thu Dec 03, 2009 9:25 pm GMT

Spanish has a lot of great Literature French only could dream of. As for French philosphy, it's not that great. German philosophy is miles away from the French one.

Philosophy as a subject is a thing of the past anyway. Just like with religion, people are moving on.

Guest or Mr. Non-sense liar,

Your lists are a bullshit if they are not in a website. So, the only one we have is my list.

In my list, both, Only France and not Spain is in the top ten scientific countries. I insist that English, Russian, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, Swedish, Japanese and Portuguese are the scientific languages.

So, Spanish is ONLY important in the Beauty pageants, and it is overestimated because:

Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Venezuela prefer to use English.

Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Guatemala prefer to use Amerindian languages like Guarani, Quechua, Aymara, and Quiche.

Basically, only Castilia, Antioquia and some of the poorest countries on Earth (in Hispanic America) use Spanish in international beauty pageants.

After writing all this stupid things, I go to fuck my dog Franco and my monkey Phony.

We like to make love together, a "menage a trois". It is the best way to know each other.

The other way is to make "the train". I prefer to make the train with a black (the final wagon), and a Hispanic in the first place. I am always in the medium wagon. It is an impressive feeling.

My doctor says that I will never be a normal person, but my dream it that all people in the World speak French, even in Pluto (in Mickey too).

Well, mes amis, I also want to fuck, eeer, to buy a horse. He is very fine and I will name it "Sarko". What do you think about?

Thanks.
